Description
Português: O Dia Internacional da Paz, celebrado em 21 de setembro, data proclamada pela Assembleia Geral da ONU visa fortalecer os ideais de paz em nações e para os povos. O tema deste ano é: “Acabar com o racismo. Construir a paz”.

O secretário-geral da ONU, António Guterres, recordou que promover a causa da paz é o pilar das Nações Unidas, mas que “a tarefa de construir a paz pertence a cada pessoa”. Segundo ele, a luta para que haja paz no planeta, em nações em desenvolvimento e para as vítimas do que chamou “injustiça do sistema financeiro global”, é uma missão de todos.

Em vez de lutar, “a humanidade deve se unir” para enfrentar desafios comuns, enfatizou Guterres. Entre suas preocupações, o secretário-geral citou a pobreza, fome e desigualdade; mudanças climáticas e perda de biodiversidade; a pandemia de COVID-19 e o racismo. “Juntos, vamos promover a paz”, pediu Guterres.
