Description
English: SEM foto. Silicified cell wall of a diatom Amphora sp., consisting of two valves or overlapping halves.
Diatom samples were treated with cold acid method (Krammer & Lange-Bertalot, 1986)Amphora Ehrenberg is a very large and heterogeneous diatom genus represented in marine, continental and estuarine environments. Its frustule resembles ‘‘a third of an orange’’ (Hendey, 1964).
