Summary edit

Description
English: Dismantled railway near the Fleet viaduct The railway line from Dumfries to Portpatrick was a victim of Dr Beeching's cuts in the 1960s, and several parts of what remains now form pleasant and useful walking tracks in the region. The green section shown here starts at the Big Water of Fleet viaduct and continues (stone surfaced) to the old Gatehouse Station, a couple of kilometres beyond. The western end of the Clints of Dromore can be seen to the right.
