English: Collection of objects demonstrating the European practice of adding metal mounts to imported Chinese porcelain which was especially popular in France in the court of Louis XV, 1710-79. Items include two vases, two ewers and two pot-pourri containers with Chinese porcelain from the Qianlong period with later French metal mounts, a vase from the Kangxi period, 1662-1722 with French mounts of about 1750 plus two ewers from China dated to 1680-1700 with brass mounts added in Turkey, 1800-1900 |
