| Description |
English: Disused Railway Branch for Farndale Ironstone Mine Also known as Blakey mines due to its proximity to Blakey Ridge. The mine operated somewhat optimistically for approximately twenty four years at the end of the nineteenth century. Ore had to be hauled a height difference of approximately 130m up an incline to connect with this branch. The branch joined the Rosedale railway just below Blakey crossing, where the white van is in the photo. |
