Description
English: Dochgarroch weir. View near Dochgarroch looking north-east. This is the weir which separates the Caledonian Canal (on the left) from the River Ness on the right. This part of the weir is covered with some vegetation. A few metres behind the camera water falls from the canal over the bare stones of the weir into the river. Loch Ness is a few hundred metres back. In front can be just be seen the hamlet of Dochgarroch where there is a loch gate. The river follows the rough course of the canal until it reaches the outskirts of Inverness where the two part company although the river is then a few metres below the level of the canal.
