| Description | Part of a series of photos about the delta junction works on the DLR - <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/tompagenet/3263135995/">click here for the first photo</a>. This provides a clearer view of the conflicting track. This train from Stratford is now able to enter West India Quay after having to wait for a train from Bank to enter and a <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/tompagenet/3263985182/in/photostream/">train headed for Stratford</a> to leave. It's fine that this train needs to wait for the train from Bank to enter - clearly only one train can be on the Isle of Dogs branch at any one location. The problem is that our train heading towards Stratford cuts across the lines that you can see here on the left - those used by trains from Bank/Tower Gateway. This constrains capacity, hence the fly under to take the trains from Bank/TG to the Isle of Dogs branch without getting in any other train's way. |
