| Description |
English: Docklands Light Railway bridge over Limehouse Cut On the DLR, this bridge is between Limehouse and Westferry stations. If on an eastbound DLR train, just after this bridge you will have an excellent view of a fine Hawksmoor church: St. Anne's Limehouse is just to the north of the railway. Limehouse Cut was bridged at this location also by one of London's very first railways, the London and Blackwall, which opened in 1840. The line was closed for passengers in 1926 and for all traffic in 1951, and it is not known to what extent the old bridge survived to become the present-day DLR structure. |
