Petition of Reverend John Eliot, 1661. Document exhibited in the Commonwealth Museum, in the Massachusetts Archives, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Label caption: "John Eliot established reserved towns for 'Praying Indians' and enforced strict rules on the inhabitants. Natick [in Massachusetts] was the most famous and Eliot's personal favorite. In this petition he requests 2,000 additional acres in Dedham for Naticks Indians."
