Description
English: Famous Dolakha Bhimsen Temple located in Bhimeshwar Municipality of Dolakha District. This temple is located at a distance of about 137 kilometers from Kathmandu i.e. 4.5 kilometers from Charikot. Dolakha is also the gateway to Tibet from Nepal in ancient times. This Dolakha Bhimsen can be known as Dolakhadhipati, Dolakha Bhimsen Maharaj, Dolakha Bhimeshwar etc. Dolakha is known as Bhimsen or Bhimeshwar. The 30-inch-high triangular stone made of black smooth stone has a statue of Bhimsen of Anshavtar of Bhima, Rudra and Bhagwati. To the right and left of this idol are the idols of Bhimeshwar's mother Kunti and his wife Draupadi. There is a snake with gold inlays hanging on the idol. It is customary to bathe this Bhimsen with water, milk and ghee as well as with the akshata left by the hand or the akshata beaten in the mortar. According to the legend, this Bhimsen has changed his form from time to time and is also saying when he became Mahadev, when Bhimsen became Bhagwati. This Bhimsen statue is said to occasionally sweat on its own, which is said to be a symbolic foreshadowing of the national symbol. At that time, there was even a practice of offering special prayers for relief. There is even a belief that visiting the water tank will fulfill the desires of the devotees. This is a temple where daily worship of the temple is done 4 times a day.

There are also artistic pillars and statues in the temple premises. The wooden pole behind the statue is called Chulakayami.

There is a legend about the origin of Bhimeshwar that 12 porters used to live in the place where Bhimeshwar is now. Everyone brought only three stones to make a stove for cooking dinner. One porter brought only two stones. A spark has made the same stone of Bhimeshwar. When one of the porters was cooking the dhido, the part of the stone plate in the car was still raw even though it was cooked. Due to the impact of the blow, a piece of the right side of the stone was broken. Blood and milk started flowing from the ruptured area. When he told this to a sadhu there, the sadhu said that Mahadev's name was inside the Mahabali Bhima on that stone. According to the vow, they also performed pooja on the day of Baradshah. That is why they have avoided any misfortune. Due to this belief, the worship and sacrifice of no one else can be done on that day without sacrificing the first 12 goats in Dashain till now. A big fair is held in this temple on Sankranti, Shivaratri, Ram Navami, Chaite Dashai and Bada Dashai festivals. This temple attracts a large number of devotees on the day of Ekadashi, especially on the day of Bhima Ekadashi. This temple is very crowded with devotees.
