English: The two side-by-side illustrations appear to be of two different buildings:
  • Left: the House of Caiaphas (the Church of St. Savior): “A. The stone from the opening of the monument. B. Prison of Christ.”
    The preceding text speaks of the "House of Caiaphas (casa di Caipha, and in a drawing: casa di Caifa / Domus Cayphae Pontificis nunc Ecclesia S Salvatoris, replicated here) as well as "la pietra dell'altar grande, è quella della bocca o entrata del Monumento". The "Monument" being Christ's tomb? St. Savior Church's altar has a rock supposedly obtained from that tomb's entry.
  • Right: the House of Annas (the Church of the Holy Archangels): “The house of the high priest Annas
    Shown in the text as #10, inside the walls. The Caiaphas House is #13, outside the wall, to the left.
