DON JOSEPH BREVELLE. Don J Brevelle joined the Louisiana Army National Guard while a senior in high school in 1980. After graduating from high school he attended basic training as a heavy equipment operator. After returning from basic training he then was qualified as an electrician and then as a Nuclear, Biological & Chemical noncommissioned officer. In 1990, as part of the 527th Engineer Battalion (Combat Heavy), Don was activated for Operation Desert Storm. He served as a squad leader of the Heavy Equipment Platoon. After returning from Desert Storm, he worked his way up thru the ranks of Platoon Sergeant (E-7) and then the unit First Sergeant (E-8). In 2002, Don retired with 22 years of service. . For the past 23 years, Don has been employed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as an Engineer Equipment Operator at Lake Ophelia National Wildlife Refuge in Louisiana. He is also a Heavy Equipment Safety Instructor and an ATV/UTV Safety Instructor. |
