English: The purely pictographic Dongba script and symbols in Lijiang. Used by Dongba priests to write religious texts, on amulets, for divination, and in religious areas. In the Imperial era, illetrism was . Today, this script is also used by Naxi population. Dongba script is also today on streets, roads panels, as here, on shops signs. They are also in relation with the soaring tourist industry. On the pannel, in chinses:
东巴万神园， 玉水寨，玉峰寺，玉柱？天，东巴谷，玉龙雪山 Français : écriture dongba, purement pictographique, que l'on peut voir sur ces panneaux de circulation, aux côtés du chinois et de l'anglais, à Lijiang. Ils sont utilisés par les prêtres dongba pour les textes religieux, sur les amulettes, pour la divination et la décorations des lieus sacrés. Si pendant la période impériale, l'illettrisme était très important. Cette écriture est également aujourd'hui utilisée par la population Naxi et on la trouve sur les panneaux de circulation, comme ici, sur les panneaux indicateurs, sur les portes ou encore sur les enseignes. Il existe également des dictionnaires multilingues chinois - dongba - anglais. Sur les panneaux, en chinois :
