Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, located in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, was founded in 1939 and is considered one of the oldest medical universities in the world, the university is recognized as a partner of the Educational Commission Foreig Medical Graduate (ECFMG-USA), and graduates of this university are eligible for higher education in America. AT ME is considered a desirable venue for international scientific conferences and symposiums held in various fields of science. During Tajikistan's membership in the USSR, this university was recognized as the second largest university in the entire USSR.
