| Description |
Taken while skiing, high up in Montgenevre (in the Alps, at the border between Italy and France). There is a set of forts, originally built part of Vauban's effort to defend France. I shot in the direction of the sun, leveraging the beautiful clouds that were creating a halo around the sun. Technically, this is an HDR done by manually merging two pictures of 1EV exposure difference. In addition, I used a local contrast enhancement filter on the building to outline the stones, and I segmented the hole to make it more dark. I added an white overlay in the center and duplicated the sky to add it as a multiplying layer on the outline. This had the effect of enhancing the clouds. Finally, I added in the sky a "color" layer to pull the sky toward orange colors. I modulated its transparency with a layer mask to tune the amount orange. |
