Deutsch: Schwefeldioxid wird beispielsweise durch das Verbrennen elementaren Schwefels hergestellt. Auch andere Herstellungswege sind üblich. Der Katalysator (Kontakt) ist in Horden in einem Kontaktofen untergebracht. Dort reagiert Schwefeldioxid mit gereinigtem Luftsauerstoff in einer exothermen Gleichgewichtsreaktion zu Schwefeltrioxid. Nach Passieren von drei Horden wird in einem Absorptionsturm der Schwefeltrioxid-Anteil in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure gelöst, so das teilweise Dischwefelsäure entsteht. Erst danach wird der zweite Kontakt passiert, um restliches Schwefeldioxid in Schwefeltrioxid umzuwandelt. Das sich dabei bildende restliche Schwefeltrioxid wird im Endabsorber wiederum in konz. Schwefelsäure gelöst. Das entstandene Oleum (Schwefelsäure-Dischwefelsäure-Gemisch) reagiert beim Verdünnen mit Wasser zu konzentrierter Schwefelsäure (nahe 100%). |
