Back side: two tragic masks and a pillar. Four images show the same relief: front side, front side, front side, back side. These (often two-sided) mask reliefs were studied by Hans-Ulrich Cain: Hans-Ulrich Cain, Chronologie, Ikonographie und Bedeutung der römischen Maskenreliefs, in: Bonner Jahrbücher, vol. 188, 1988, pp. 107–221. The present relief is no. 99 in his catalogue. |
