English: The small but potent Hurricane Dora of the 2023 Pacific hurricane season at its secondary and most intense peak intensity as a Category 4 major hurricane while over the open Pacific as imaged by the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) aboard the GOES-18 satellite launched by NOAA during the afternoon of August 5, 2023 (Locally) (early on August 6 in UTC). When this image was captured, Dora had 1-min sustained winds of 145 mph (230 km/h) and a minimum central pressure of 942 mbar (27.8 inHg). |
