Deutsch: Dorothy Ianone, in Boston geboren, in Berlin gestorben. Sie studierte Literatur an der Boston University, insbesondere englische Literatur und ging dann nach New York. Sie begann zu malen.Nach ihren ersten abstrakten Bildern widmete sie sich erotischen Themen. Mit ihrem Mann unternahm sie zahlreiche Europa-und Asienreisen. Sie betrieben zusammen eine Galerie in New York bis 1967. Sie begegnete Dieter Roth in Reykjavik, mit dem sie sich fortan der Fluxusbewegung anschloß, von der sie sich später aber distanzierte. Sie lebten in Basel, Düsseldorf, London und Island. Durch ein DAAD Stipendium gelangte sie 1976 nach Berlin, wo sie bis zu ihrem Tod lebte und arbeitete. Sie nahm an internationalen Ausstellungen teil und setzte wichtige Impulse in der zeitgenössischen Kunst. Sie wollte sich schon lange nicht mehr fotografieren lassen wie sie mir sagte. Wir trafen uns fast täglich in unserem Charlottenburger Kiez und plauderten über Kunst und die Berliner Szene bis sie zum Olivaer Platz zog, wo dieses letzte Bild entstanden ist als sie die Straße überquerte. |
