| Description |
English: U.S. Navy Douglas A-1J Skyraider (BuNo 142015) of Attack Squadron 145 (VA-145) "Swordsmen". VA-145 was were assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW-14) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CVA-61) for a deployment to the Western Pacific and Vietnam from 10 December 1965 to 5 August 1966. The A-1J 142015 was later transferred to the U.S. Air Force and served with the 602nd Special Operations Squadron. It was shot down 25 km west of Kham Duc, Quang Tin Province, South Vietnam on 22 April 1970. The pilot bailed out and was rescued. |
