Description
English: A U.S. Navy Douglas AD-7 Skyraider (BuNo 142023) of Attack Squadron 115 (VA-115) "Arabs" taking off from the aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La (CVA-38), in 1959. VA-115 was assigned to to Carrier Air Group 11 (CVG-11) aboard the Shangri-La for a deployment to the Western Pacific from 9 March to 3 October 1959.
142023 was later transferred to the U.S. Air Force. It served with the 602nd Special Operations Squadron and was shot down near Lima Site 36, Laos, on 1 March 1969. The pilot was killed.
