DescriptionDownhills Primary School - David Lammy MP (6687213735).jpg |
9 January 2012. In a packed school hall, David Lammy, Tottenham's MP, publicly backed the campaign by Downhills Primary School to resist the bullying of Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Education. Downhills is David Lammy's old school. Click for a video of David speaking at the meeting.
The schools' Governing Bodies were told by the Department for Education to make this decision in a few weeks - before parents, teachers, teachers and support staff and the wider community had a reasonable time for proper consultation and to get full information. Imagine if roles were reversed and David Lammy was the Government Minister making such unreasonable demands on schools in Mr Gove's rich Surrey constituency . . . Send Michael Gove your Anti Bullying Policy A few days later, at a meeting of another Tottenham Primary school, a parent suggested that the school send Mr Gove their Anti Bullying Policy. A splendid idea. Even better if hundreds of other schools across the country each sent Michael Gove their own Anti Bullying policies. It might help him understand why and how his behaviour sets such a poor example for children. _________________________________ See where this picture was taken. |
