Español: Curvas de arrastre para una aeronave en pleno vuelo.
  • El arrastre parásito se incrementa con el cuadrado de la velocidad de vuelo;
  • El arrastre inducido por la sustentación decrece con el cuadrado de la velocidad de vuelo.
Como resultado, el arrastre total (la suma de ambos componentes) normalmente tiene un valor mínimo. En la práctica, la validez de estas curvas está limitada por la presencia del confinamiento en el lado izquierdo, y por los efectos de compresibilidad en el lado derecho.
