Description
English: Droitwich Canal at Ladywood. The Droitwich canal was opened in 1771 and was surveyed by James Brindley. It connected Droitwich with the river Severn and its course follows the contours of the Salwarpe valley. It fell into disuse in the early 20th century and was abandoned in 1939. Today some parts are navigable but it is cut off from the Severn by the A449.
