English: Dyffryn Syfynwy stone circle from the north. This view, looking south, shows the remarkable stone at the north of the stone ring: unlike the others, it is an ovoid slab of slatey rock soft enough for a few initials to have been scratched on it, buried in the ground so that the layers are vertical. It is tempting to imagine that it might have been placed over the entrance to a large central burial chamber.
