There are no known restrictions on William C. Brumfield photographs in the Library of Congress. Mr. Brumfield's photographs were protected by copyright. Works created after January 1, 1978 are usually protected for the author/creator/copyright holder's life plus 70 years. However, in providing photographs for the Library's collections Mr. Brumfield stipulated that he was reserving his copyright for fifteen years from the date of each gift. The collection was given in several installments. The final gift was registered February 12, 2004. |
