Description
English: Boeing 707 of SkyAir Cargo.

With additional 'Super Q' titles...

Another B707 with a weird and wonderful history. This aircraft was delivered to American Airlines as N7555A in Nov-63. It was wet-leased to Trans Mediterranean Airlines in Feb-76 and returned to American in Aug-76. It was leased to Tradewinds Airways (UK) in Mar-78. They bought it in Aug-78 when it was registered G-WIND. The aircraft was sold to St. Lucia Airways as J6-SLF (Saint Lucia) in Mar-82. They were accused of illicit weapons transportation and the airline was renamed Caribbean Air Transport in Apr-87. The aircraft was re-registered N6097C in Oct-87. It was sold to Ark Leasing Inc as N902RQ in Jul-88 and sold on to George E Bailey Company in Oct-88. It was leased to Ivic Air as EL-JNS (Liberia) the following month and immediately sub-leased to Sky Air Cargo. It was sub-leased to Pacific Airlines in Dec-91 and returned to Sky Air Cargo in Mar-92. Sky Air Cargo was renamed Transway Air International in Apr-96 but was then changed back to Sky Air Cargo in Dec-97. In May-99 the aircraft was re-registered EL-ALI. It was withdrawn from use and stored at Sharjah, UAE in Dec-00 (the month after the above photo). It was leased to Sky Aviation (Sky Air Cargo with another name ?) as 3D-ALJ (Swaziland) in Oct-01 and they became Transway Air International (again!) in Feb-02 when it was again stored at Sharjah. Air Cargo Plus leased the aircraft in Jul-02 and returned it to Transway Air International in Oct-02 when it was permanently retired at Sharjah, UAE. It was used as a spares source.
