Description

NSF presented an event, EPSCoR Innovations: Generating a Strong Economy, on Capitol Hill on May 2, 2014. The agency’s Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research promotes strategic investments to build science and research and development capacity in 31 states and jurisdictions. James A. Rice, Ph.D., of South Dakota State University, is the state’s EPSCoR director and he discussed how the state’s EPSCoR program is a catalyst for partnerships between government, universities and the private sector, and is helping to address the need for a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) workforce. A video of the event is available at www.nsf.gov/news/mmg/mmg_disp.jsp?med_id=76280.
