(Der Eisenacher Oberbürgermeister Doht zum Projekt:) Die zuvor bestehende Fußgängerbrücke (deren Abriss erfolgte im November-Dezember 2010) war im Juni 2008 wegen Einsturzgefahr voll gesperrt worden. Der Neubau der Brücke für Fußgänger und Radfahrer wurde mit Mitteln aus dem Konjunkturpaket realisiert. Rund 348.000 Euro wurden dafür eingeplant. Die Kalkulation für die stählernen Brückenbögen sind mit 103.000 Euro veranschlagt, auf das Geländer entfallen 35.700 Euro.
