A Romanian Bob bahner had recently been badly injured in a crash there and subsequently died from his injuries. The NVA Helicopter Crew are wearing particularly fine shoes. The hubschrauber is an MI-8 (thanks below to @fotoparceiros for confirmation) of the Luftstreitkräfte der NVA, the Air Forces of the East German People's Army. For a list of DDR NVA kit when went under the hammer after 1990 see here. This site provides a construction number 10540 for this 1975 Mil MI-8, no 924 in the NVA, and states that it was dumped at Hoyerswerda. Similar craft no 927 is in the Luftwaffenmuseum Berlin-Gatow. According to a thread ,924 became 23+10 in the unified German Luftwaffe and flew with the LTG 65 (Lufttransportgruppe) until 1994. |
