Summary edit
DescriptionEastern shoreline of Lochan Stole - geograph.org.uk - 1573707.jpg |
English: Eastern shoreline of Lochan Stole Photograph taken from the footpath which joins the deserted settlement of Stoul (on Loch Nevis) to Loch Morar. The walk from Stoul to Morar (3+ hours) is rugged and very steep in parts but affords great variety - a sea loch, a beach and ruined hamlet, hill climbs, moorland, lochans, stepping stones and the deepest freshwater lake in the British Isles (Loch Morar - 1000 feet deep and boasting its own "monster").
Anyone starting the walk from Stoul will either be on the return leg from Morar or have been dropped-off by boat : there is no other way. |
