Description
English: Entering Eastry from NW at site of Eastry station/halt.
The East Kent Light Railway station/halt had been just on the right. It was on the ill-fated Col. Stephens line from Shepherdswell to Wingham (also Richborough until 1928), but closed to passengers 1/11/48 (to goods 1/3/51). The whole line was abandoned, apart from the short stretch from Shepherdswell to Tilmanstone Colliery at Eythorne, over which coal was conveyed until March 1984.
