English: Edge of felled area in Newlands Plantation, Ibsley Common, New Forest To the right is a recently felled area of Newlands Plantation, which will now be returned to open heath, like that on the left of the photo. It will take a long time for the scars of felling and timber extraction to heal. The land is owned by the National Trust and the softwood plantation is managed by the Forestry Commission. |
