| Description |
English: Edinburgh Waverley station; open-air canopy The remodelling of the track layout at the west end of Waverley station during 2007 required modifications to the existing platforms and also to the late-19th-century listed canopies. Here the roof of the canopy has been temporarily removed and the left-hand side of the canopy is being cut back to keep it clear of the overhead electric wires when they are installed towards the end of the year. A First ScotRail Class 170 diesel unit, probably from the Fife Circle, is entering Platform 18 on the left, while a Virgin West Coast "Pendolino" tilting electric train waits at Platform 19 to depart for London Euston. |
