English: This painting Ehekushon di Tula (Execution of Tula) llustrates how Tula and his brave warriors were tortured and executed on the beach of Rif in Willemstad (Curaçao). First, wheel breaking was used and then they were blackened in the face and beheaded. At the end their bodies were chopped into small pieces and thrown into the sea as fish food. These were gruesome torture methods from the Middle Ages in Europe. |
