Deutsch: Stadttafel Hannover (Nummer 96) an der Mauer vor der Ellernstraße 39 im Stadtteil Zoo:

„Ehemaliges jüdisches Krankenhaus / Former jewish hospital / Diese Gebäude wurden 1901 vom Israelitischen Verein für Altersfürsorge und Krankenpflege errichtet. Architekt war Carl Arend. Der Verein betrieb Krankenhaus, Altersheim und Totenhaus - auch für christliche Patienten - bis 1939. 1941/42 richteten die Nationalsozialisten hier eines von mehreren so genannten Judenhäusern ein. Jüdinnen und Juden wurden in diese Ghettohäuser zwangseingewiesen bis zur Verschleppung in die Vernichtungslager. Das Grundstück erwarb die Stadt Hannover. Es diente zunächst als Frauenklinik, nach dem Krieg bis 1999 als Hals-Nasen-Ohren-Klinik. 2005 Umbau für private Nutzung.“

„Former jewish hospital / Erected in 1901, designed by the architect Carl Arend. Hospital, old people`s home and mortuary chamber - also open to gentile patients - until 1939. Occupied by the Nazis in 1941/42 as one of several ghetto houses. Jews were forced to live in these ghetto houses before beeing deported to death camps. Site purchased by city of Hanover. Used as gynaecological hospital, until 1999 as ENT hospital. Converted for private use in 2005.“
