Deutsch: Ein heller Berg in der Mitte von Tithonium Chasma von mehr als 3000 Metern Höhe hat eine vom Wind stark erodierte Oberfläche. Es handelt sich dabei um „Erosionsgassen“, in der Fachsprache als Jardangs bezeichnet. Das Material, das diese kuppelförmigen Hügel bildet, ist im Vergleich zu den umgebenden Felsen weniger resistent gegen Erosion. So konnte der Wind durch mitgeführte Sand- und Staubpartikel ähnlich wie mit einem Sandstrahlgebläse diese Furchen aus dem Gestein schmirgeln.
