Alter Besitz des Klosters Einsiedeln.
Ursprünglich Turm in der Stadtmauer.
1610 - Abt Augustin Lohmann von Einsiedeln baut das Haus um - 1660 - Die Kapuziner im nahen Kloster erhalten die Nutzniessung und richten eine Weberei ein. - 18. Jh. - Das Einsiedlerhaus erhält das heutige Aussehen. - 1971 - Die Weberei wird aufgegeben. - 1972 - Restaurierung durch die Ortsbürgermeinde Rapperswil.
