Deutsch: Am 25. Oktober 1939 fährt in St. Valentin (Niederösterreich) um 18.55 Uhr der D54 trotz des in Ablenkung zeigenden Einfahrtssignal mit voller Geschwindigkeit in die Ablenkung. Während die Lokomotive die erste Weiche, die in die Ablenkung steht, ohne zu entgleisen passiert, entgleist die Lokomotive 12 006 bei der nächsten Weiche. Der Unfall forderte 17 Tote, 8 Angehörige der deutschen Wehrmacht und 9 Zivilpersonen, darunter der weltberühmte Chirurg Prof. Dr. Anton Freiherr von Eiselsberg. |
