Description
English: Palm trees extend beyond El Houch (traditional houses in Djerba, still currently inhabited). During the early hours of the day, fog covers the scenary giving it a vibe of mystery and meditation. More Houchs can be seen, plus the electricity/phone cables which reflects the beautiful blend of past with present and of tradition with progress in Djerba. Dar El Jdoud, or Home of the Ancestry is the best place to showcase how younger generations acknowledge and honour what was left from the elders. My family inherited this place from our grand-father whose father lived here before him. The relaxation and peace of mind felt here truly accredit this place with being a place of habitat, a history.. a home.
