Description
Español: En tiempo de la colonia existió un edificio en este sitio que fue construido en 1705, donde oficiaba la Real Audiencia, la Cárcel de Cortes y el Cuartel Militar de Chiriquí.

Este edificio fue inicialmente ideado como el Palacio Legislativo y de Justicia, dando cumplimiento a la ley 35 de noviembre de 1924. Tras la mudanza de la Asamblea en la década de 1950 solo quedó el Palacio de Justicia. En 1993 la Corte Suprema de Justicia se trasladó, y el edificio se convirtió en la sede del Instituto Nacional de Cultura (INAC) y del teatro Anita Villalaz.

El Palacio de Justicia fue planeado sobre las restos del cuartel de la Plaza de Francia, y estaba constituido originalmente por una planta baja para albergar la Asamblea Legislativa; un primer piso para la Corte Suprema de Justicia, y un segundo para la Procuraduría General junto con los juzgados.
