Español: El barranco de Waterloo, óleo sobre lienzo, 96,8 x 148 cm., 1895, firmado en el ángulo inferior derecho, "A mi querido pueblo. U. Checa. 1900". Sociedad Nacional de Bellas Artes de París. 1895.Este cuadro fue presentado por Cgeca en la Sociedad General de Bellas Artes de París, 1895. Recrea el pasaje de "Los miserables" de Victor Hugo, (1862) en el que se relata la caída de los soldados franceses en una zanja durante la batalla de Waterloo, con la que finalizarón las guerras napoleónicas. "El poeta ha hallado en este pintor el traductor más épico que jamás podría haber encontrado." (Le Matin". París, 25 de enero de 1895).
