Español: Una larga espera (1601-1655) para terminar una obra destacadísima del retablo protobarroco. Juan Martínez Montañés concentra a Juan de Oviedo y de la Bandera y a Gaspar del Águila para el proyecto. Por fallecimiento, sustituye a Gaspar, Miguel de Zumárraga. En 1617 Montañés replantea la pintura y relieves y en 1641 Martínez Montañés encarga al flamenco José de Arce la terminación de las esculturas, ultimándose en 1655. |
