After that, we will look at where the speed of light is hidden in the electromagnetic wave equation. Afterwards, we will write out the wave equation to understand its structure better. At the end, we use the first and second Maxwell equations, and a planes wave to derive that the B and E field vectors must be perpendicular to the direction of propagation, i.e. perpendicular to the wave vector. And in the end we use Maxwell's third and fourth equations to derive that the E and B field vectors of an electromagnetic plane wave are perpendicular to each other at any time and at any location.
