Summary
editDescriptionElectronic RR Crossing Bell.jpg |
English: This is a General Signals electronic crossing bell found on NW Marina Way in Portland, Oregon. This type of bell contains a speaker that mimicks the sound of a traditional mechanical warning bell. Unlike its mechanical counterpart, the volume of the bell can be adjusted and it can be ordered to 'broadcast' the sound in only one direction (towards that of the road) so as not to disturb residents if housing is nearby the crossing. General Signals bells are very popular with the BNSF and CSX railway. |
