| Description |
English: Elephant & Castle main line station, 1991. View northward, towards Blackfriars: ex-SE&CR Holborn Viaduct - Blackfriars - Herne Hill - Beckenham Junction - Bromley South, etc. and Kent via Chatham, also since 1988 served by Thames-Link trains to Sutton and Wimbledon. The station was badly damaged in the War then rebuilt. Many more skyscrapers would be visible nowadays (2013), but dominating the background at right in 1991 was Guy's Hospital Tower. |
