Notes There are two Finnish painters: Elin Johanna Nordlund, born in 1855 and more commonly known as Erin Nordlund, and Elin Alfhild (Isabella) Nordlund, born in 1861. I can find no other Johanna’s painting on the internet, where as Alfhild has a number of paintings to be found. However, Alfhild had a tendency to use her middle name to differentiate her from the other Elin as described here: http://www.kysy.fi/kysymys/kenen-suomalaisen-taidemaalarin-signeeraus-on-en-sen-jalkeen-on-merkinta-ii-tai-sinnepain. Fittingly all of her paintings I can find are signed “E. A. N.” I can find a number of paintings from years before 1891 and years after signed like that. Also, Alfhild had a tendency to draw sceneries and landscapes where as this is very close and personal. So, after all of this, I figured it really is the only Elin Johanna Nordlund painting “currently” on the internet.
