English: Elm Bluff Plantation, also known as the John Jay Crocheron House, in rural Dallas County, Alabama on the Alabama River. Built in 1845.
Crocheron was a native of Staten Island, New York and had relocated to Alabama by the 1820s. He established a large plantation of many thousands of acres in Dallas County on the Alabama River across from Cahaba and built this house in the center of it. He died in 1864 and the house has been long abandoned. Detail of plasterwork in the interior, ground floor. |
