Summary edit

Description
English: Westmount Road, Eltham, SE London
The former main entrance of the former Eltham Park Station, Westgate Road (opened 1 May 1908) with its 85-foot long “high-level’’ entrance and its complex roof design of numerous pitched sections. In 1924, during the Southern Region’s second year of existence, this booking hall was decommissioned and converted into shops. The original legend “SE&CR 1908’’ (South Eastern and Chatham Railway) was replaced with the words “Station Parade’’ and tickets were subsequently sold from an “up side” platform booking office. A poster on the side of the building suggests that the site's development into replacement retail units, including a D.I.Y pottery studio, has been proposed although whether these will be in this historic building or not remains to be seen.
