Description
English: Elveden Almshouses This row of almshouses, known as Cottage Homes, was built in 1914 and is listed grade II. Built in a Tudor style in red brick with pantiled roofs, the cottages have faux half timbering in the gable spandrels. The red brick chimneys are octagonal. The almshouses are set back from the main A11 (from where this photo was taken), at the rear of a circular area which was once a sand pit in which a gas house and gasometer were situated in the late 19th century.
